Boy is the dog that started it all for Mary Lou. He was a cute pup with a cowlick on his forehead. See About Us – A Brief History for more about Boy.
Border Collie Jill is same way bred as Boy, from a litter the following year. Mary Lou was so taken with Boy that she wanted another dog from the same breeding. She took two puppies out from the litter to choose from and for an hour played with the two pups. When she returned, others were waiting for her to decide so they could make their pick. Mary Lou was undecided and looked at the other puppies and saw Jill’s white face. The rest is history. Jill was a determined pup, often climbing in to the paddocks and fetching the sheep at 11 weeks. She has been a very successful trial dog for Mary Lou, but more importantly, is the best work dog on the farm.

Border Collie

Bet is a bitch imported from the U.K. in 2005. She has a wonderful temperament, and is very affectionate. Bet is very stylish and doesn’t upset her sheep, yet she will take command when necessary. Mary Lou will be trialing Bet in 2007.
Whiterose Taz is a smooth, black and white male from the U.K. We were so impressed with the pups that he sired out of Mary Lou’s Bet that we decided to import Taz so that we could repeat the breeding. He has a wonderful, outgoing temperament and strong drive to work. His pedigree shows great balance between trialing and shepherding lines. Taz pups in both the U.K. and Canada are turning out well.

Reidell Dyna - On a cool spring day, Mary Lou visited Rose Reid, a close friend and sheepdog companion of several years. Rose was proudly showing Mary Lou a litter of week old puppies that hadn’t yet opened their eyes when Mary Lou spotted a wee pup with a half white face and instantly fell in love. Dyna was unusually quiet around the house for a Border Collie pup, but the first time Mary Lou introduced her to sheep Dyna cast around them as if she’d been doing it her whole young life. As Mary Lou’s faithful old Jill neared retirement, Dyna quietly became Mary Lou’s right hand. Dyna is extremely biddable, easy to have around, and has a natural feel for her sheep. She has a good sense of balance and is a stylish worker.

Boywood Lily - Mary Lou has always had an affinity for white faces so Lily had a place at Boywood the moment Mary Lou laid eyes on her. Lily is by Boywood Jess, a bitch Mary Lou imported from England, and Boywood Roy, a son of the highly successful Whiterose Taz x Boywood Bet breeding. Lily started young and inherited the natural feel and outrun of both of her parents along with the style of her dam and the intensity of her sire. Mary Lou has high hopes for Lily, who will begin more serious training in the fall as she matures.
